The Opportunity
Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The position of Administrative Assistant is within our Infectious Disease Business Unit located at our Maine Campus. This role will communicate effectively with the site management team to enable efficient coordination of site activities and events. This position also provides administrative support as assigned.
What You’ll Work On
This role will be responsible for support of department management, including expense reports, calendars, meeting set-ups, document preparation and department meetings/activities.
Prepare and assemble communications with the management teams and external agencies to include notices, agendas, and other materials.
Prepare presentations integrating Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio files and content in order to create executive level presentations and reports. Heavy calendar management requiring interaction with both internal and external executives and assistants.
Coordinate a variety of internal and external meetings, conference calls, and web meetings across multiple time zones. Coordinate domestic and international travel plans, including expense reporting and reimbursement.
Perform general administrative tasks (filing, phones, mail, scanning and data entry).
Complete other projects as assigned.

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Highly organized office administration skills, with strong attention to detail. Ability to proactively manage projects and willingness to pitch in as needed. Ability to work independently with attention to Abbott’s goals and interests. Advanced proficiency in formatting, proofreading, and editing correspondence and other documents.
Ability to learn new software applications with ease.
Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills. Flexible and adapts to change.

Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business or other related technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of previous executive administrative support experience for senior leadership.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or another related technical field.

The base pay for this position is
$26.50 – $53.00/hour
