We have an exciting opportunity in either our Sioux Falls, SD OR Phoenix, AZ for an Associate Trust Officer! The Associate Trust Officer is responsible for administering a portfolio of trust accounts in accordance with governing documents, company policies, and regulatory requirements. This role requires exercising independent judgment, delivering high-quality client service, and collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure operational accuracy and compliance.
This role is an On-site position that can be located either in our Sioux Falls, SD or Phoenix, Arizona office.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions
Client and Account Administration
Administer a portfolio of client accounts, including those with complex structures and diverse asset classes.
Serve as the primary contact for clients, advisors, and external partners.
Answer client questions and coordinate delivery of services.
Facilitate and oversee distributions, transactions, and daily account activity.
Maintain ongoing client communication and service delivery.
Review account activity, statements, and fee collection.
Oversee the completion of the tax preparation process.
Perform annual account reviews.
Maintain complete and audit-ready account documentation.
Review onboarding documentation and account closing packages.
Process asset additions, transfers, and revocations.
Ensure timely completion of all assigned projects.
Risk, Compliance, and Governance
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML.
Support audits, examinations, and regulatory interactions.
Complete annual administrative, risk, and investment reviews.
Prepare and present discretionary requests to committee.
Promote a strong compliance culture and support process improvements.
Communication and Team Support
Assist in training and mentoring assigned team members.
Participate in department meetings and initiatives.
Support process consistency and operational improvements.
Partner with and communicate frequently and effectively with Financial Advisors and clients’ attorneys on all trust and estate matters.
Attend and coordinate with external client advisors, including accountants, attorneys, and family offices.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent as demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the trust industry preferred.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
CTFA designation a plus.
Salesforce experience a plus.
AI Literacy as demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools and technologies in daily work tasks.
Requirements include understanding how to craft effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy and appropriateness, and integrate AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards.
Comfort with learning new AI applications and understanding their appropriate use cases and limitations.
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $79,200.00 - $110,000.00. However, the base salary range bolded above ($90,000.00 to $110,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
