Job summary
The Careers Service & Industry Relationship Specialist will be working closely on managing a high level of service for our students as well as ensuring that Istituto Marangoni’s reputation is continually maintained to the highest standards. The purpose of the job is to deliver the Istituto Marangoni London employability offer for current students as well as manage the placement lifecycle for all MA students. The job holder will work closely with the Careers Manager on industry relationship management, working alongside to build and strengthen relationships as well as explore new partnership lead opportunities.
Key purpose of the role
To provide information, advice and guidance to students before and during placements in both group and 1-1 sessions
To lead on the placement lifecycle for all MA students
To actively source placements and general opportunities for students and respond to industry enquiries
To support the Careers Service & Industry Relationship Manager with research for potential new links and industry relationships as well as Local employment regulations
To act as first point of contact and provide guidance, support and coaching sessions for students with employability, careers and general industry enquiries.
To design and deliver the employability offer for Istituto Marangoni London students covering all career and job search fundamentals – Resume, LinkedIn, Personal Branding, Networking, Pitching, Interviewing etc
To design, facilitate and sometimes commission external speakers for a comprehensive soft skills offer for Istituto Marangoni London students
To provide administrative support for Symplicity (the internal careers platform) relating to job and placement postings, CV reviews, newsletters, reports etc. Direct, train, and teach students and industry contacts on how to use Symplicity
To create periodical reports and presentations required by the Career Services & Industry Relationship Manager
To assist on the organization and running of a variety of industry events, programmes and initiatives
To project manage the organisation and delivery of 2 Career Fairs each year (1 focused on part-time roles and 1 focused on placements and graduate opportunities)
To actively contribute to the development of new initiatives and the growth of the Career
service within the London School and Industry
Education and Desirable skills
Bachelor’s degree Required
Additional training or certification in careers coaching, employability, or student support is an advantage.
Experience in careers services, employability support, industry liaison, or student-facing support roles.
Strong understanding of career development practices, including CV writing, LinkedIn, networking, personal branding, and interview preparation.
Experience managing or supporting placements, internships, or employer engagement activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, advise, and guide students individually and in groups.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with industry partners, employers, and external organisations.
Good organisational and administrative skills, with confidence managing diaries, events, and databases.
Ability to produce accurate reports, presentations, and documentation, including use of careers platforms (e.g., Symplicity or similar systems).
Experience supporting or organising events such as career fairs, guest lectures, or workshops.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently to source opportunities and respond to student and industry enquiries.
Interest in the fashion, design, luxury, or creative industries is desirable.
