Dynamics of the Role
TransUnion APAC is seeking a Regional Chief Data & Analytics Officer—an accomplished, forward‑thinking, and collaborative leader who will oversee and represent all facets of data science, analytics, data acquisition, and data management across the Asia‑Pacific region within our Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) organization.
In this role, you will steward the full data and analytics value chain in APAC, including credit and non‑credit solution development, custom analytics, data strategy, data acquisition, onboarding, and quality governance. You will champion emerging platform capabilities and guide regional adoption by shaping use cases aligned with commercial priorities.
As a senior member of the GD&A International Markets leadership team, reporting to the Senior Vice President – International Markets, GD&A, you will also serve on the APAC regional leadership team, supporting Regional Presidents across multiple markets. You will lead a combination of solid and matrixed teams spanning data science, analytics, and data operations, and may additionally oversee global Center of Excellence (CoE) analytics resources located within the region.
What You'll Bring:
Partner with APAC regional presidents and regional sales & solutions leaders to ensure D&A capabilities align with and deliver against 3YP strategic priorities.
Build strong relationships across APAC functions and markets to identify collaboration opportunities and ensure effective communication and transparency.
Maintain a comprehensive and prioritized regional analytics book of work, including pipeline initiatives and emerging opportunities.
Partner with Global Technology to optimize the Data & Analytics platform landscape and accelerate regional innovation.
Clearly articulate D&A’s impact on regional business goals and define a roadmap to continuously enhance value creation across APAC markets.
Serve as the APAC thought leader for TransUnion D&A, representing the region internally and externally.
Build networks with regional CDAOs and industry leaders to anticipate emerging needs and shape future solutions.
Publish white papers and thought‑leadership insights to highlight TransUnion innovation within APAC and globally.
Expand awareness and adoption of the full D&A value chain across regional teams to improve solution design and execution.
Lead delivery of complex, high‑impact projects and drive stakeholder alignment across diverse markets.
Maintain a healthy pipeline of reactive and proactive priorities to foster innovation and responsiveness.
Build and sustain a high‑performing Data & Analytics culture—attract, retain, and develop top regional talent.
Follow organizational talent practices, ensuring development pathways for top performers.
Strengthen regional risk posture by advancing initiatives in Data Security, Data Privacy, Data Quality, Model Risk Management, and compliance.
Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency through streamlined processes and workflows.
Champion global D&A and GT transformation agendas within the region.
Align APAC initiatives with Global Credit, Fraud, and Marketing Solutions roadmaps and drive cross‑regional learnings.
Leverage global resources, GCCs, and Centers of Excellence to accelerate time‑to‑value.
Share best practices and standout projects from APAC with global teams.
Monitor emerging business and technology trends across APAC to identify synergies and opportunities
Impact You'll Make:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or data science (preferred), with a track record of academic excellence.
15+ years of professional experience in analytic development within financial services, consumer credit, or a related regulated industry, including 8+ years in a successful leadership role.
Strong understanding of data acquisition practices from furnishers and third‑party providers, including the ability to monitor data performance and address quality issues.
Deep knowledge of credit, marketing, fraud, and related data assets and business practices specific to regulated industries across APAC markets.
Demonstrated analytical rigor, critical thinking, creativity, and a strong sense of initiative in resolving complex problems.
Proven career path and interest in industries served by TransUnion, including financial services, insurance, fraud, telco, e‑commerce, and digital marketing across the APAC region.
Solid programming skills; mastery of analytical tools such as R or Python and data manipulation languages/platforms including SQL, Hive, Spark, C/C++, and Java; high proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to lead complex, multi‑market data and analytics projects under limited supervision, collaborating with Sales, Solutions, and vertical support teams, and engaging directly with customers.
Experience delivering advanced data solutions in partnership with Global Capabilities Centers (GCCs) and global analytics teams.
Proven success operating within matrixed organizations and collaborating effectively with global and regional stakeholders.
Strong project, change, and time‑management skills with the ability to lead multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment and make impactful decisions.
Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively at senior leadership levels across diverse APAC markets.
Regional commercial acumen and strategic planning experience within multinational organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for internal and external partners.
Ability to present and champion a compelling strategic vision that accelerates adoption of advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
Willingness to travel across APAC and internationally.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
