Accounts Payable Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to oversee and manage the AP team in the Bangalore office. What You’ll Do The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable operations, vendor management, and process improvement, combined with proven leadership skills in managing and mentoring a team. This individual will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in AP processes while driving operational excellence. Team Leadership & Supervision Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team, ensuring high performance and professional growth. Manage workload distribution and provide support on complex or escalated issues. Accounts Payable Operations Oversee invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and payment runs to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Monitor AP aging reports and resolve outstanding liabilities promptly. Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and statutory compliance Process Improvements & Controls Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and implement automation where possible. Enhance internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and compliance breaches. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Treasury, Finance) to ensure smooth operations. Vendor Management Build strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely query resolution and effective communication. Negotiate payment terms and support vendor onboarding. Reporting & Audit Support Prepare monthly AP reports, KPIs, and dashboards for management review. Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete, accurate, and timely documentation. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field. ~4 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable in international environments with experience in US and European based companies 3–4 years of supervisory/team lead experience in AP operations. Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and regulatory compliance Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion or similar) and MS Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively.
