Advanced Research Associate
Antibody Validation Group, Customer Applications, R&D

The Advanced Research Associate will be responsible for the routine validation and characterization of antibodies using Western Blot (WB) methods. This role involves hands-on sample preparation, protein extraction and quantification, gel electrophoresis, blot transfer, antibody probing, imaging, and data analysis.
What You'll Do:
Western Blot Validation & Analysis
Own our Western Blot workflow from start to finish. You will lyse samples, quantify protein, run SDS-PAGE, and perform Western blots (membrane transfer, blocking, antibody incubation, detection, and imaging).
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for antibody testing and reporting results.
Analyze data for band patterning, specificity, and antibody performance metrics using appropriate tools.
Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records of experiments, data, and conclusions.
Laboratory Operations & Support
Assist with equipment installation, calibration, and routine maintenance.
Prepare buffers and other reagents required for WB workflows.
Manage inventory of consumables and assist with ordering and tracking laboratory supplies.
Support general laboratory housekeeping, waste disposal, and safety compliance.
Collaboration & Documentation
Participate actively in lab meetings, where you will present your data, and discuss troubleshooting strategies.
Draft and revise SOPs and work instructions as needed.
Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data interpretation, presentation and reporting.
Utilize internal databases and Smartsheet for sample tracking, data entry, and project documentation.
Other Duties
Remain flexible and willing to learn new laboratory techniques based on evolving company needs.
Follow all company policies, safety practices, chemical hygiene guidelines, and exposure control procedures.
Education and Experience:
Requires a master’s degree in a science related field with up to 2 years of relevant experience Or, a bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience; Or, an associate degree with 7 or more years of relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience required.
Experience with protein analysis and Western Blot are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Prior hands-on experience with protein assays and Western blotting. Working knowledge of protein biochemistry.
Strong attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality, reproducible data.
Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient and timely manner.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.
Ability to demonstrate the quality requirements in daily work.
Ability to work in a team setting by collaborating and interacting with others.
