Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Enterprise Data Manager (Individual Contributor) to drive data ownership, standards, and lifecycle practices across a global organisation, to join our team in Prague (hybrid office set up).
The Lead Enterprise Data Manager works closely with global business leaders, application owners, AI teams, and governance functions to bring consistency and clarity to how data is defined, managed, and used. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role that operates through influence, standards, and strategic partnership with application owners, business teams, and technology stakeholders.
In this role, you will act as a thought leader and key driver of enterprise data governance practices, setting direction, shaping standards, and enabling adoption across the organisation.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, distributed environments and is motivated by improving data quality and usability at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
Define, own, and evolve enterprise data standards, definitions, and quality expectations across business applications and collaboration platforms
Partner with senior application owners and business stakeholders to establish and enforce clear data ownership and accountability
Lead improvements of data and content lifecycle practices, including creation, maintenance, quality management, retention, and retirement
Define and drive adoption of document and content classification levels (e.g., public, internal, confidential, restricted) to ensure information is handled, shared, and retained appropriately across collaboration and business systems
Ensure classification standards are scalable, consistently applied, and aligned with security, privacy, and compliance requirements
Identify, prioritize, and lead remediation efforts of data and content quality issues, such as duplication, inconsistent naming, outdated content, or unclear ownership
Enable analytics, automation, and AI use cases by ensuring data and content are reliable, well-structured, and enterprise-ready
Drive the adoption of data and information governance practices through guidance, frameworks, documentation, and lightweight but effective controls
Collaborate with architecture, integration, analytics, AI, and security teams to ensure consistent and scalable handling of enterprise data and content across platforms
Act as a subject matter expert and internal advisor on data governance, influencing decision-making at senior levels
Required Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience in data management, data governance, information management, or related roles
Proven experience leading or driving enterprise-wide data governance initiatives in complex environments
Hands-on experience working with enterprise SaaS applications and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Salesforce or similar)
Strong understanding of data quality, data lifecycle management, and information classification concepts (e.g., privacy level of documentation)
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across teams without direct authority
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to translate governance strategy into practical, actionable guidance
