Role Summary:
The Director, Strategy & Business Operations is a strategic and operational partner to Dyne’s leadership, playing a central role in enabling effective Executive Committee (EC) and Board decision-making. This leader drives the end-to-end process for EC and Board submissions; synthesizes complex, cross-functional insights into decision-ready narratives; and leads high-priority, cross-enterprise initiatives tied to corporate strategy and operational excellence.
Reporting into the SVP, Portfolio Strategy & Operations, the ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, analytically strong, and thrives in a fast-paced, highly visible environment. They combine executive presence with rigorous analysis, clear storytelling, and an ability to orchestrate alignment and execution across R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, and G&A teams.
This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being a remote role.
Primary Responsibilities
Executive & Board Support
Partner closely with executive leadership to plan, coordinate, and manage EC and Board agendas and operating rhythms
Lead the development and refinement of EC/Board materials (presentations, dashboards, briefing documents, pre-reads) that are clear, concise, and decision-oriented
Ensure leadership materials consistently highlight tradeoffs, risks, scenarios, dependencies, and recommendations
Collaborate with HR and other stakeholders on leadership meeting design, cadence, and execution
Prepare high-quality briefing materials, presentations, and reports for the CEO and executive team
Analytics, Insights & Enterprise Performance
Synthesize complex, cross-functional data into executive-level insights, visualizations, and storylines that enable strategic choices and accountability
Develop integrated views of performance, progress, risks, and dependencies using data from multiple functions; ensure consistency, accuracy, and relevance
Elevate the use of analytics in EC/Board discussions by framing metrics in context (benchmarks, trends, thresholds) and proposing clear actions
Strategic Initiatives & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead enterprise-wide, high-priority initiatives that advance corporate strategy and operational priorities
Establish project plans, milestones, owners, and success metrics; drive execution and accountability across teams
Use data and insights to track progress, identify risks, and recommend course corrections; escalate issues with solutions
Lead special initiatives requiring senior leadership engagement and cross-functional coordination
Process Excellence & Operating Rhythm Optimization
Own and continuously improve the end-to-end process for EC and Board submissions (timelines, templates, standards, content expectations)
Drive consistency and quality across leadership materials, including analytical rigor, visual clarity, and narrative coherence
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline decision processes, operating rhythms, and cross-functional workflows to enhance organizational effectiveness
Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communications
Serve as a trusted liaison between executive leadership and functional teams to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely decision-making
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Board members
Draft and refine executive-level presentations and correspondence; support leaders with data-backed storytelling for leadership forums and internal communications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of relevant experience in Strategy & Operations, Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, PMO/Transformation, or related roles; experience supporting executive/Board governance strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to translate complex, cross-functional data into executive-ready insights, scenarios, and recommendations; strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of producing concise, compelling leadership materials
Proven ability to lead enterprise initiatives, influence without authority, and drive accountability across diverse teams
Experience designing and improving operating rhythms, governance processes, and submission standards
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with dashboarding/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
MA Pay Range
$196,000—$240,000 USD
The pay range reflects the base pay range Dyne reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
