Join BD as a Field Service Engineer - BD Rowa and support leading pharmacy automation and medication management systems across retail pharmacy and hospital environments. You’ll work hands‑on with BD Rowa dispensing robots, keeping them running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for a field engineer with experience servicing automation, electro‑mechanical machinery, lab robotics, imaging equipment, or conveyancing systems who wants to step into MedTech and work with cutting‑edge technology that directly supports medication safety and clinical workflow.
Your Day‑to‑Day
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll combine remote diagnostics with on‑site servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep BD Rowa and Pyxis systems performing at their best.
Your day will include:
Diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues quickly to minimise downtime
Providing technical support across BD Rowa, SynMed/Rowa Dose, and Pyxis capital equipment
Performing field repairs, preventative maintenance, system testing, and electrical safety checks
Supporting installations, commissioning, and customer handover
Serving as a key technical contact for electronic servicing, spare parts, and system queries
Conducting workflow/system reviews as part of implementation and providing technical sales support
Planning, scheduling, and communicating PM visits and breakdowns to align with customer operations
Delivering clear documentation and keeping service records accurate and compliant
You'll work across Queensland, with occasional travel and on‑call participation as required.
About You
You’re hands‑on, technically strong, and thrive in field environments where no two days are the same. You enjoy solving complex problems on-site, talking customers through solutions, and working with advanced electro‑mechanical technology.
You’ll bring:
A background in mechatronics, electro‑mechanical systems, electronics, automation, or lab/imaging equipment
Experience servicing complex systems at customer sites - robotics, automation, packaging systems, conveyancing, lab instruments, etc.
Strong diagnostic skills (hardware, electromechanical & software/network issues)
Confidence reading schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documents
Experience with server-based systems and remote diagnostics
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage customer expectations effectively
Self‑motivation, professionalism, and the ability to work autonomously
Restricted Electrical Licence (preferred) or willingness to obtain
Electronics/computing trade qualification, engineering diploma or degree (preferred)
