Join BD as a Field Service Engineer - Biosciences and work hands‑on with instrumentation that enables researchers, clinicians and scientists to push the boundaries of discovery. In this QLD‑based role, you’ll support leading research institutes, universities and clinical laboratories - ensuring their critical instruments are installed, maintained and performing at their best.

Your Day-to-Day
As a Field Service Engineer within the Biosciences team, you’ll deliver on‑site support across Queensland and help keep high‑spec scientific instrumentation running safely, reliably and accurately.
Your day will include:
Installing, commissioning and training customers on BD Biosciences instruments
Performing maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair work and performance testing
Providing phone‑based troubleshooting support when required
Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
Collaborating with Account Managers and Technical Specialists to identify service and upgrade opportunities
Managing service parts, stock control and equipment movement
Assessing product performance, reporting issues and recommending improvements
Keeping up‑to‑date with new instrument models and participating in ongoing training
Preparing repair quotations and identifying opportunities for service contracts
Ensuring all activities comply with the BD Quality Management System
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where you’ll work with precision equipment used in flow cytometry, life sciences research and clinical diagnostics.
About You
You’re a technical problem‑solver with strong electro‑mechanical and IT capabilities, and you enjoy working in scientific or laboratory environments.
You’ll bring:
Qualification in electronics, engineering, biomedical engineering, mechatronics or similar (Cert, Diploma or Degree)
5+ years’ experience servicing life science, laboratory or clinical instrumentation (flow cytometry highly regarded)
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, electronics, software and networking
Confidence configuring applications, operating systems, updates and upgrades
High attention to detail and the ability to work in environments where precision matters
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel across Victoria and interstate as required
Experience in scientific instrumentation, lab automation, imaging systems, diagnostics or high‑spec machinery will be highly valued.
