Finance Business Partner (FTC) – EMEALA
Cambridge based | Hybrid

As a Finance Business Partner (FP&A) here at Illumina in Cambridge, you’ll join our Business Finance organisation and play a key role in supporting the EMEALA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa & Latin America). Working closely with Finance Business Leads and senior Commercial stakeholders, you will deliver accurate forecasting, thoughtful insight, and trusted decision support. This high‑visibility individual‑contributor role offers the opportunity to influence regional performance and contribute to excellence in a complex, global matrix environment.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
Significant FP&A experience, ideally within global or matrix organisations
Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
Strong analytical and storytelling skills, with the confidence to explain performance drivers clearly
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Cognos or IBM Planning Analytics is advantageous
Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple regions and stakeholder groups
High attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
A degree in Finance, Business or Economics (advanced qualifications strongly preferred)
Key Responsibilities Include
Regional Planning & Forecasting
Lead monthly forecasting, annual operating plan cycles and long‑range planning
Ensure accuracy, transparency and consistency in all EMEALA FP&A deliverables
Prepare high‑quality reporting and analytics for sub‑regions and specialist commercial teams
Financial Performance & P&L Analysis
Analyse revenue, margin, OPEX and CAPEX performance across the region
Explain variances against plan, prior year and forecast with clarity and insight
Support month‑end and quarter‑end close, including variance commentary and audit queries
Business Partnering & Decision Support
Partner with Commercial leaders to understand performance drivers and identify risks and opportunities
Build models, scenarios and ad‑hoc analyses that support strategic decision‑making
Deliver insights that influence regional actions, priorities and execution
Process & Systems Improvements
Contribute to continuous improvement across planning processes, reporting capabilities and systems
Help elevate the quality, speed and impact of the Finance function across EMEALA
