About the Job
The Consumer Insights Lead – Rx‑to‑OTC Switch is a strategic role within Opella’s Global Switch Commercial team. The position ensures that consumer insights sit at the heart of decisions that drive Opella’s Rx‑to‑OTC switch programs—from early development through regulatory processes, commercialization, and post‑launch performance.
This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to translate diverse data sources into clear, actionable guidance that shapes regulatory, medical, and commercial outcomes. As the ultimate champion of the consumer, the Consumer Insights Lead helps teams answer critical consumer questions by selecting, designing, and fielding the right studies, interpreting the findings, and translating data and insights into actionable recommendations. The role plays a critical part in informing both current switches and future switch innovation opportunities.
The role is a core member of Global Switch Commercial Team, and a connected contributor within the CXI community, sharing and adopting best practices.
Main Responsibilities:
Consumer‑Led Strategy for Rx-to-OTC Switches
Act as the consumer voice across all switch workstreams, including regulatory, medical, commercial, and innovation discussions.
Ensure people‑centricity influences claims, communications, risk mitigation, and overall switch readiness, impacting all elements of the marketing mix, from claims and communications to packaging and pricing decisions
Cross‑Functional Business Partnering
Serve as a trusted strategic insights partner for R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Trade & Shopper, BD&L to help guide strategic decisions, rooted in data and consumer understanding.
Align on key business questions and insights needs that support regulatory milestones and market success.
Integrate learning across data sources to shape clear, insight‑driven strategic recommendations.
Research Leadership & Insight Excellence
Lead qualitative and quantitative custom and syndicated research aligned to the switch agenda.
Ensure rigor, compliance, timeliness, and fiscal responsibility in all research initiatives.
Provide insight‑driven guidance across positioning, claims, messaging, brand architecture, and creative evaluation.
Product Innovation & Whitespace Switch Development
Support new product innovation for future switch candidates by identifying unmet needs, behavioral barriers, and category whitespaces
Validate opportunities through rigorous market sizing—using volumetric analyses and syndicated data—to assess prevalence and identify undertreatment gaps
Commercialization Readiness & Market Enablement
Create global insights‑based guidance for markets, including toolkits, frameworks, and best practices.
Translate research findings into actionable strategies for launch planning, communication, shopper activation, and HCP engagement.
Collaborate with analytics partners to evolve strategies based on brand performance and tracking.
Global–Local Integration
Ensure global consistency while enabling local flexibility, balancing globally aligned frameworks with market‑specific adaptations.
Work closely with the CXI community to share, adopt, and strengthen global insights practices.
Competitive, Category & Social Insight
Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of category dynamics, competitive moves, macro trends, and consumer behavior shifts.
Bring forward relevant social, digital, and cultural insights to inform strategy.
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Innovation, Social Sciences, or related field required.
5+ years of experience in consumer insights across healthcare, OTC, FMCG, wellness, or related sectors.
Experience with Rx‑to‑OTC switches strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise across brands, communication, segmentation, innovation, and shopper research.
Strong experience partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders and influencing at senior levels.
Global or multi‑market exposure is an advantage.
Deep consumer empathy and ability to translate insights into actionable decisions.
Strong framing, storytelling, and simplification capabilities.
Broad qualitative and quantitative methodological expertise.
High collaboration, influence, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Agile mindset, with an ability to thrive in dynamic environments.

The salary range for this position is:
125,500.00 - 169,688.00 USD Annual
All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be
