WHO WE ARE Roboflow is building the visual cortex for AGI. Every day, millions of developers and half of the Fortune 100 use Roboflow to count cells https://blog.roboflow.com/cancer-research-computer-vision/ to accelerate cancer research, improve construction site safety https://blog.roboflow.com/preventing-accidents-on-construction-sites-with-computer-vision/, digitize floor plans https://blog.roboflow.com/floor-plan-analysis-computer-vision/, preserve coral reef populations https://blog.roboflow.com/reefos-supercharging-coral-reef-restoration-with-ai/, guide drone flight https://blog.roboflow.com/georeferencing-drone-videos/, and much more https://roboflow.com/templates. We have built the tools, community, and resources needed to make the world programmable with artificial intelligence. We're supported by great customers and investors, having raised over $100 million from Google Ventures, Craft Ventures, Sam Altman, Lachy Groom, Y Combinator, and more. Roboflow Labs is our applied research unit. We train our own open models (RF-DETR). We build our own benchmarks grounded in real enterprise use cases (RF100-VL). And we partner with frontier labs to deliver the training data they need to advance the capabilities that drive the most value back to our customers. Behind all of it is a global network of millions of Roboflow developers who have annotated billions of images and videos to date, as well as a proven enterprise business that is exploding as AI traverses the physical economy. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Member of Technical Staff on our Frontier Data team, you’ll build the environments, evaluations, and datasets that expand what frontier models can actually do. This is work at the edge of the field: identifying high-value capability gaps, then designing the tasks, reward signals, and data that close them. You’ll write the platform code that lets us run hundreds of thousands of tasks reliably and at scale, and you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with researchers and engineers at leading AI labs who depend on what we ship. You’ll operate with a lot of autonomy across a wide surface area — systems engineering, ML tooling, and research collaboration — and your judgment about what to build will matter as much as your ability to build it. - Design and build RL environments, evaluations, and datasets that target high-value gaps in frontier model capability - Develop internal platforms and supporting infrastructure to run hundreds of thousands of tasks at scale, with the throughput, reproducibility, and observability that demands - Collaborate directly with researchers and engineers at leading AI labs to scope and shape dataset development against their model roadmaps - Make quality measurable — build the grading harnesses, metrics, and automated checks that tell us whether an environment or dataset is actually good - Prototype fast, then harden what works into production systems others can run without you - Contribute back to our open source projects https://roboflow.com/open-source where it accelerates the broader community WHO YOU ARE You are a strong generalist engineer who is energized by ill-defined problems at the frontier of AI, and who wants to be an important part of an exceptional team using Roboflow’s computer vision platform to advance frontier model capabilities. You have high agency and a bias toward action. - Practical experience with agents, evaluations, or RL workflows. - Strong technical background and written communication - Nice to have: experience with computer vision or multimodal models, or prior work with an AI lab as a data or evaluation partner WHERE YOU'LL WORK Roboflow is a fully distributed company with hubs in San Francisco, New York City, Singapore, and Brazil. Roboflow Labs works in person in San Francisco. We host full company retreats twice per year. WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE The target compensation for this role is $150,000 – $300,000 base salary commensurate with experience as well as equity in the company. Total cash comp is expected to scale significantly with growth of Roboflow Labs. In addition, we offer generous perks and benefits. We want a diverse, global team with a broad range of experience and perspectives. We carefully consider every application and will either move forward with you, find another team that might be a better fit, keep in touch for future opportunities, or thank you for your time.
