The Procurement Business Partner (MR) is accountable for defining and driving enterprise‑wide procurement and sourcing engineering strategies that deliver sustained business value and competitive advantage. The role translates complex business and innovation needs into integrated procurement, sourcing, and technology roadmaps, secures executive alignment, and ensures disciplined execution across the organization. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the role shapes strategic decision‑making through deep understanding of business impact, product innovation, and global supply base capabilities. It provides strategic leadership across Advanced Development and New Product Development, ensuring early sourcing engineering engagement to industrialize innovation and deliver superior outcomes for cost, quality, and risk. As an executive leader and thought leader, the role steers long‑term sourcing strategy, governance, and performance across the full product lifecycle. It champions a high‑performance, collaborative procurement culture, scales Design for Excellence (DfX) and best practices globally, and positions Procurement and Sourcing Engineering as a future‑ready, strategic leadership function.
Your role:
Define, authorize, and drive enterprise‑wide procurement and sourcing strategies for MR aligned with business objectives, category strategies, and long‑term company goals, ensuring execution through strong buy‑in, governance, and resource allocation.
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior and executive leadership, translating complex business needs into integrated procurement and sourcing solutions, influencing decision‑making, and securing commitment for critical initiatives.
Lead and develop a global organization of Procurement Engineering leaders and Procurement Engineers across 3 regions / 4 locations — Best (NL), Latham (US), Pune (IN), and Suzhou (China) — creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and value creation, while effectively leading leaders across multiple time zones and various foci.
Development and deployment of a Business Procurement Strategy for MR based on customer needs, technology roadmap, and global supplier ecosystem
Ability to think End-to-end:
STRATEGICALLY: From a product development lifecycle – from AD through to EOL, to serve R&D, Finance, and Product Management to drive innovation, financial performance, and resilience
OPERATIONALLY: From sub-tier supplier through to service operations, to serve supply chain teams to drive performance, compliance, and to support escalation management
Own succession planning and comprehensive talent management, including workforce planning, leadership development, employee selection, performance management, compensation processes, and career progression.
Oversee the end‑to‑end performance cycle for procurement and sourcing activities, setting expectations, monitoring delivery, resolving escalations, and ensuring sustained business impact.
Drive early supplier and sourcing engagement in Advanced Development and New Product Development, shaping sourcing strategy to deliver competitive outcomes for cost, quality, and risk.
Lead strategic sourcing plans for New Product projects, define and govern targets for cost, quality, risk, and total cost of ownership based on external benchmarking and market intelligence.
Champion and scale Design for Excellence (DfX) across the organization, embedding cost, quality, manufacturability, and risk considerations into product and service design from the earliest phases.
Guide Product Sourcing governance in New Product Development, including GaTe Reviews, Phase‑In / Phase‑Out transitions, and supplier readiness to ensure successful launches and sustainable ramp‑up.
Steer Product Cost Roadmaps and post‑release performance management, partner cross‑functionally to continuously improve cost competitiveness, quality, and resilience.
Shape modularity and platforming strategies across the product portfolio to enable scalability, efficiency, and adaptability to future market and technology developments.
Lead continuous improvement through innovation, best‑practice deployment, and enterprise learning, leveraging a global virtual community of procurement and sourcing experts.
Manage complex, global, and ambiguous situations with an enterprise mindset, balancing business priorities, supplier risk, governance, and stakeholder interests while communicating a compelling strategic vision.
You're the right fit if you have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Operations, or equivalent.
Minimum 11 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 9 years with a Master’s degree, in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related areas.
Experience in leading and managing large teams.
Strong people management skills with the ability to manage change, build high-performing teams, and influence stakeholders across functions.
Proven expertise in procurement policies, processes, and supply chain management, with strong business acumen and risk management capabilities.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budget oversight, and program management, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with DfX methodology and experience in applying structured approaches to deliver sustainable value.
Proven ability to drive change across the supplier network while fostering strong business partnerships.
Strong capability to accelerate and support New Product Introductions (NPIs) for faster market readiness.
High commercial acumen, with the ability to communicate in business terms beyond procurement-specific language.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Given that the Direct Procurement Team for MR are located globally, you will have a certain element of business travel as well as participate in Teams meetings.
