What is Franklin Separately Managed Accounts responsible for?
Franklin Separately Managed Accounts (FSMA) provides an array of options for high net-worth investors who may wish to take advantage of the potential benefits of having their assets managed on a separate account basis. Our group manages approximately $18 billion in AUM.
We can accommodate a client’s unique investment goals, risk tolerance, liquidity needs and objectives such as control over certain taxes, cash flow, turnover, and continuous portfolio maintenance.
SMAs eliminate the impact of activity an investor may experience in a commingled fund. For instance, shareholder withdrawals in a declining market could force a mutual fund to sell assets and potentially cause capital gain distributions. In addition, investors hold each individual security in their account, which is different than a mutual fund structure.
Separate account management allows clients to establish investment guidelines that reflect their moral and ethical values. Furthermore, client guidelines can take into account extraordinary economic exposure from other investments they may already own.
FSMA is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join the team in our Mexico office. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Analytics, the Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and management of strategies.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Portfolio Analyst?
Ensure investment management and trading decisions are implemented properly at the individual portfolio level for applicable strategies within FSMA. Also responsible for investment guideline compliance, executing client directed activity, (i.e., deposits, withdrawals, and tax requests) and review and maintenance of portfolios.
Assist with allocations and trade settlement for FSMA strategies.
Respond to portfolio management and sponsor queries.
Generate periodic and ad-hoc portfolio reports for the portfolio management team.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
2+ years of previous investment industry experience with a basic understanding of portfolio management.
Minimum bachelor’s degree, with focus on economics, finance, financial engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proven information gathering skills, outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be a team player but with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other applications.
Excellent communication skills.
