Role We are looking for a Principal Backend Development Engineer to join our Product Security Team in a hybrid capacity based in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering. Bring your vision and passion to our team of cloud architects and security experts as you build the world's largest cloud security platform. You will enable organizations worldwide to harness speed and agility with a cloud-first strategy, supporting a multitenant architecture with millions of global users. What you’ll do (Role Expectations) Design and implement enterprise-wide internal security platforms to strengthen our global infrastructure Integrate systems including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes with advanced security platforms Implement secure and scalable data security platforms, specifically focused on secrets and key management systems Drive the adoption of security solutions while ensuring industry compliance and implementing best practices Provide technical leadership within a full-service ownership model to support 99.99% system availability Who You Are (Success Profile) You thrive in ambiguity. What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) 15+ years in software development with at least 3 years focused on architecting and implementing security platforms at scale Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Rust, or Java Demonstrated experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes Proven track record of technical leadership in a full-service ownership model, from design to deployment What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience implementing data security and secrets management platforms at enterprise scale, including PKI and encryption Expertise in cloud-native security systems such as AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, or Google Cloud KMS Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible and automated workflows #LI-Hybrid #LI-PM5 At Zscaler, we are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve and the customers we work with.
