Lilly is designing and building a Next Generation Biotech Drug Substance Manufacturing Facility in Limerick, Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and operate a state-of-the-art manufacturing site from the ground up. Our new Limerick facility will be one of Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing sites and will include next-gen manufacturing technologies, and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will result in safety and quality improvements, increased productivity, and variability reduction.
Description of Role/Position
The permit authoriser provides safety leadership and expertise for the entire Lilly Limerick permit to work program. The role will operate shift patterns subject to the business need.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review and authorise Lilly Limerick permits which include
General Permit to Work & Risk Assessment
Line Break and Lock-Out Permit
High Energy Hot Work Permit
Low Energy Hot Work
Red Tag Permit
Confined Space Entry Permit
Excavation Permit
Critical Lifts Permit
Draft, review and submit for HSE & or Management approval Lilly Limerick permits which include
Live Electrical Work
Special Conditions permit
Reviews the hazards and controls associated with each task to ensure it can be completed safety and without incident which includes:
Verifies persons carrying out the work are competent for the task. Verifies persons carrying out the work have the necessary access control permissions to enter the work area. The scope of work has been communicated to impacted personnel. The work area is in a safe condition, the permit workforce is aware of all permit hazards, controls and area quality control requirements. There are no environmental or business interruption associated with a task completed under permit. Draft, review and approval of Equipment Specific Instructions (ESI’s). Review and approve risk assessment, method statement, equipment certification and associated documentation to enable the safe completion of a task. Ensure all contract companies and associated workforce are indicated as qualified on SafePermit Portal prior to requesting contract company to complete work on site. Permit authoriser for small projects and small construction projects under Lilly Limerick control. Support emergency response team activities. Supports scheduled maintenance activities and corrective maintenance tasks. Participates in HSE committees, site audits and incident investigations and observation (Bsafe) investigation. Supports HSE inspections, audits and program reviews.
Basic Requirements
FETAC Level 6 Trade Qualification or equivalent.
Four years GMP manufacturing experience. Relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience.
Five years’ experience in an operations, engineering, maintenance, or technical support area.
Experience with computer systems (e.g., DeltaV, MES) and automated recipe driven processing.
