Job Description
Who we are
Otter is building the digital infrastructure for better food. Restaurants today face a world where off-premise demand is growing faster than the tools built to support it. We help operators simplify complexity, grow their business, and deliver great experiences to every guest – wherever they are.
Our platform empowers food businesses of all sizes, from local heroes to regional chains and global enterprises. With Otter, restaurants can focus on what they do best: serving delicious food to their customers. And as they thrive, we’re helping make better food more accessible, reliable, and affordable for everyone.
What you’ll do
As Product Manager for the Money Platform team, you’ll own the financial "source of truth" for Otter. You will build the infrastructure that handles every dollar from the moment a diner pays until it hits an operator’s bank account. You will:
Architect money movement: Lead the strategy for our core payment and payout rails, ensuring high reliability across complex, multi-entity transactions and global processor integrations
Scale the revenue engine: Own the Billing and Invoicing platforms, building a flexible "Product Catalog" and automated billing flows that ensure we collect payments while maintaining transparency for our partners
Automate financial integrity: Build the "connective tissue" between our product and accounting, developing automated Financial Reconciliation and 1099 Tax tools that eliminate manual ops and ensure high accuracy
Modernize processor onboarding: Design seamless onboarding workflows for new payment processors, reducing the friction for operators to start accepting payments and accelerating their time-to-value
Defend the platform: Lead Fraud and Risk initiatives, deploying smart detection layers that protect Otter’s bottom line without introducing friction for legitimate customers
Partner with "Money" Stakeholders: Act as the technical bridge between Engineering, Finance, and Customer Success to build "Embedded Finance" features that turn payments from a utility into a competitive advantage.
What we’re looking for
5+ years of product management experience, with a deep focus on Fintech, Payments, or complex Billing/ERP systems
Deep technical fluency in payment APIs, ledger systems, reconciliation logic, and the nuances of global payment processing
Operational mindset: You don’t just build features; you build systems that reduce manual overhead and scale through automation
Proven scale: Experience shipping platform services that support thousands of merchants and handle high-volume transaction data without breaking
Data & logic driven: High proficiency in SQL and a strong grasp of ledger-based accounting logic; you’re comfortable diving into database schemas to troubleshoot a reconciliation gap
Exceptional stakeholder management skills; you can translate technical architectural needs to the CFO and financial requirements to the Engineering team with equal ease
Why join us
Growing market: You’ll be focused on an $80 billion market that’s projected to reach at least $500 billion by 2030 in the US alone.
Industry transformation: You’ll be part of a team redefining how restaurants run both online and offline.
Impact at scale: What you build will directly power thousands of restaurants and millions of diners.
Collaborative environment: You’ll work closely with talented colleagues across teams, with the support and guidance to grow your career.
