Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Designer, Visual to elevate the visual quality and consistency of Clearwater’s product experiences. You’ll work closely with Product Designers, Design Systems partners, Product Managers, and Engineers to deliver polished, modern UI that scales across a large platform—especially for dense, enterprise B2B interfaces.
This role is ideal for a designer who is strong in visual craft (layout, typography, color, hierarchy), can translate design system foundations into high-quality product UI, and can push quality through collaboration and iteration.
Key Responsibilities
Drive visual design excellence across Clearwater’s product surfaces (web app), ensuring high standards of polish and usability.
Apply strong visual hierarchy to data-dense enterprise UI (tables, dashboards, reports, forms, complex workflows).
Create and refine UI designs in Figma, including:
High-fidelity mockups and interaction-ready screens
Iconography, UI patterns, and illustrative elements (as needed)
Visual specs and documentation for engineering handoff
Partner with Product Designers to improve user flows with strong layout, consistency, and clarity.
Collaborate with the Design Systems team to evolve the system:
Contribute to components, tokens, and usage guidance
Identify gaps and propose scalable improvements
Work closely with Engineers to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity; participate in design QA and iterative refinement.
Support accessibility and inclusive design through color contrast, typographic choices, states, and clear affordances.
Participate in critiques and help raise the bar on craft through feedback and mentorship (as appropriate).
What You’ll Work On
Visual enhancements to key workflows in investment accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and analytics
UI modernization efforts and consistency across modules
Scalable patterns for tables, filters, navigation, dashboards, and reporting outputs
Improving readability and clarity in high-stakes, information-heavy experiences
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in product/visual/UI design for digital products (B2B experience strongly preferred).
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual design craft and high-quality UI for complex applications (not only marketing design).
Advanced skills in Figma (components, auto layout, styles/tokens, prototyping).
Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, color, spacing, and interaction states.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Designers in an iterative environment.
Solid grasp of accessibility fundamentals (WCAG) and designing for different data/contrast needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing for enterprise SaaS or data-heavy products (tables, complex forms, dashboards, reporting).
Experience contributing to or working within a design system at scale.
Familiarity with front-end constraints and development collaboration (responsive behavior, CSS concepts).
Motion/micro-interaction skills (e.g., Principle, After Effects, Figma prototyping) are a plus.
Designing PowerPoint presentations is a plus.
