The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Asset Accounting (FI-AA) Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Agile TM Team on the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS).
This role is critical to designing and integrating asset lifecycle management and financial accounting processes that support transportation infrastructure, equipment, and mission-critical assets. You will work within an Agile environment to modernize asset tracking, maintenance, capitalization, and depreciation processes, ensuring full alignment between operational asset management and financial reporting.
This position requires deep expertise in both EAM and FI-AA, along with the ability to drive cross-functional integration, compliance, and data integrity across a complex DoD program.
Responsibilities:
SAP EAM Functional Expertise (Operational Asset Management)
Serve as the functional authority for SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), including: Asset master data, functional locations, and equipment structures, Maintenance planning (preventive, corrective, and predictive), Work order management and execution, Asset lifecycle tracking from acquisition through disposal
Design and configure EAM processes to support transportation infrastructure, fleet, and equipment operations.
SAP FI-AA Functional Expertise (Asset Accounting)
Lead design and configuration of Asset Accounting (FI-AA) processes, including: Asset capitalization and asset master data, Depreciation areas and methods, Asset transfers, retirements, and disposals, Integration with General Ledger (Universal Journal)
Ensure accurate financial valuation, reporting, and compliance for capital assets.
End-to-End Asset Lifecycle Integration
Integrate EAM operational processes with FI-AA financial processes to ensure: Seamless flow from asset acquisition and maintenance to capitalization and depreciation, Alignment between operational asset events and financial postings
Collaborate with Finance (FI/CO/FM), Procurement (MM), and Logistics (TM/EWM) teams to ensure complete lifecycle visibility.
Agile Delivery & Product Support
Operate as a core member of an Agile team, participating in: Sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional designs.
Partner with Product Owners to prioritize asset management and accounting capabilities.
Deliver iterative enhancements aligned with program objectives and mission requirements.
Requirements Analysis & Solution Design
Conduct fit-gap analysis between current asset management processes and SAP S/4HANA capabilities.
Develop functional specifications and configuration designs that support scalable and compliant solutions.
Recommend approaches that balance standard SAP functionality with complex operational requirements.
Testing, Validation & Deployment
Lead and support functional and integration testing (SIT/UAT) for EAM and FI-AA processes.
Validate end-to-end scenarios including: Asset creation, maintenance execution, capitalization, and depreciation
Support cutover planning, data migration validation, and go-live activities.
Data Integrity, Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure accuracy and consistency of asset master data, financial records, and depreciation calculations.
Support audit readiness by ensuring traceability of asset transactions and financial postings.
Identify and resolve data discrepancies, control gaps, and compliance risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with: Finance (FI/CO/FM) for financial integration and reporting , Materials Management (MM) for asset procurement and inventory alignment , Transportation Management (TM) for asset utilization in logistics operations , Warehouse/Yard teams (EWM/YL)
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Business, or related field
8+ years of SAP functional experience, with deep specialization in SAP Transportation Management (TM)
Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, preferably in large, complex environments
Strong understanding of end-to-end transportation and logistics operations
Ability to facilitate workshops, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus across diverse teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$114,600-$252,100
