Job Description
The Senior Director Software (SW), Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-s) is responsible for the technology roadmap, development and delivery of software components for the service and hospital workflow, AppOS platform software for our clinical application and the software development for the Allura image-guided therapy platform.
The Senior Director SW, IGT-s is leading an organization of multiple R&D groups in Bangalore and drives leadership and competence development, process improvement and achievement of quality and development KPIs for the IGT Software. The role is part of the global R&D Management Team of IGT.
Your role:
Creating a north-star vision and technology roadmap for the SW platform components in IGT-S
Operationalizing the vision into a development program for the SW teams in Bangalore and strongly driving for results and delivery on time and at quality
Leading a development organization in Bangalore and site leadership of IGTs in Bangalore
Interfacing with the wider R&D organization in the Netherlands, the US and China
Responsible for achieving the product quality and development KPIs for the Bangalore SW organization
Working in close relation with Q&R to ensure compliance with FDA design controls, EU MDR and NMPA requirements
Drive AI-enabled transformation of the software way of working to accelerate innovation, compress development cycles, improve predictability, and improve quality across the Design Controls value stream
Drive prioritized AI use cases across test automation, software engineering productivity and code quality and software Design History File generation
Establish the foundations and governance for scaled AI in software including secure data and tool access, compute infrastructure, validation, confidentiality and IP protection, cybersecurity, and human oversight in regulated environments
Build AI software capability across the Bangalore and global teams through practical adoption, upskilling, change leadership, and selective ecosystem partnerships with technology, clinical, and academic partners
Understand external factors, including: Regulatory, Customers, Competition, and Industry trends
Drives functional excellence, including professionalism in domain expertise, builds up strong, innovative teams, world -class productivity, promotes domain knowledge, system thinking, and customer understanding
Promotes openness to learning things and leveraging others’ capabilities, shares capabilities across global locations and builds an environment of trust.
You're the right fit if you have:
Master’s degree in software engineering or related discipline
Deep knowledge and experience in Software engineering, design controls and designing for quality and reliability
Experience and knowledge of cloud technologies and patterns to transform from a traditional business to a SaaS model
Proven track record of applying AI to transform how R&D is done, improving productivity, quality, innovation, and speed across the development lifecycle
Experience leading AI-enabled transformation in one or more of the following areas: verification and test automation, AI-assisted software engineering, regulated documentation and DHF generation, model-based engineering, digital twins, or production and service analytics
Demonstrated ability to build the enabling foundations for scaled AI adoption, including connected data platforms, access to engineering and field data, cloud or high-performance compute environments, and integration of AI into daily engineering workflows
Strong understanding of responsible AI and governance in regulated environments, including validation of AI outputs, human accountability, confidentiality and IP protection, cybersecurity, bias mitigation, and explainability
15 years of progressive management experience, ideally including both large MedTech companies and an innovation-driven environment, with a background in interventional imaging or interventional devices, is a plus
Experience with Lean and regulated / process-oriented environments such as medical device development
Experience with change management and working in a global organization across multiple locations
Experience with imaging systems is a plus
Experience with AI/ML in medical imaging, image-guided therapy, or related domains
Exposure to cloud-based AI platforms and data infrastructure
Understanding of ethical AI, bias mitigation, and explainability in clinical contexts.
Experience with agile development a plus
Strong influencing and communication skills, with business proficiency in English
