Manager / Senior Manager, Global Corporate Affairs
Location: Mississauga, Canada (ave. 60% / 3 days on site)
The Manager / Senior Manager, Global Corporate Affairs, will play a pivotal role in advancing our company’s stakeholder relations and engagement on key policy and business priorities, including by supporting high-profile external and internal engagements. In partnership with the Director, Global Corporate Affairs and Chair’s Office and Global Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations team, this role will support best-in-class preparation, delivery of and engagement at priority platforms and stakeholder dialogues.
The role will be part of the Sustainability Corporate Affairs, Global Partnerships & Chair’s Office team, which is accountable for our group-level external and internal communications, policy and public affairs on the sustainability agenda, as well as the delivery of global platforms including the World Economic Forum (WEF), World Health Assembly and UN General Assembly. The team also leads the Company’s presence in industry groups such as the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) Health Systems Task Force and European Roundtable of Industry (ERT), as well as multi-stakeholder engagements and partnerships.
This role will play a key role in preparing for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos Annual Meeting, other priority platforms and Chair and Senior Executive Team (SET) engagements. The role will support with briefings and engagement on topics including health systems resilience, sustainable financing for health, life sciences competitiveness, digital and AI, and European policy, among other key policy and business priorities.
In partnership with the Director, Global Corporate Affairs & Chair Office, this role will also support the effective research and preparation ahead of external and internal engagements by the Chair and occasionally other Directors senior leaders, including with government officials, thought leaders and employees. This includes preparation for Chair-level engagements including the European Round Table of Industry (ERT) and relevant policy committees, the SEB Nordic Conference, and other external platforms, as well as AstraZeneca site visits in key markets. The role will also support on Chair communications, supporting the Head of Internal and Digital Communications, including through drafting remarks, internal presentations and digital communications. The position will support tracking, monitoring and evaluating of these engagements and their impact in advancing corporate priorities, and will ensure the sharing of best practices and learnings to drive internal capabilities. The position will leverage AI to enhance delivery of priorities and strategic impact.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong writing skills and develop strong, trusted partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external. You have a growing knowledge in the field of healthcare, a keen interest in current affairs, politics and policy, and an ability to upskill quickly on new areas. Expertise in EU and European policy and policymaking, including around topics such as the intersection of health with R&D, innovation and economic competitiveness, is a clear plus. You are also passionate about collaborating with, supporting and upskilling diverse teams and colleagues around the world to maximise the strategic value and impact of partnerships, high-level meetings and stakeholder engagements. Responsibilities
Prepare for best-in-class delivery of Chair and senior-level engagements (e.g. engagements around Board of Director meetings and AstraZeneca site visits, European Round Table of Industry, SEB Nordic Conference, Investor AB Chairs Circle, etc.), working closely with the Director, Global Corporate Affairs & Chair Office and the Head of Internal and Digital Communications. The majority of this work will entail supporting the preparation of briefing materials and communications, internal coordination across global, regional and market teams, and ensuring timely follow-ups after Chair engagements including with governments and senior stakeholders. The role will also support, at a minimum, biannual Chair engagement strategy deep-dive sessions that include both past and forward looks.
Support the Chair’s Steering Committee responsibilities in the European Round Table of Industry, including preparing briefings for ERT plenaries, Steering Committee meetings, and high-level government engagements. In May 2026, the Chair will assume the role of co-chair of the R&D and Innovation and Skills Committee on the ERT and, along with his counterpart, will be responsible for setting the direction of the committee’s policy development and advocacy. The role will support this policy work, as well as coordinating AstraZeneca’s policy input on other relevant committees (e.g., Single Market, Trade and Economic Security, Energy and Climate).
Contribute to best-in-class delivery of key global platforms and senior executive engagements (may include World Economic Forum, World Health Assembly, UN General Assembly, regional and major market platforms) to strengthen key stakeholder relationships, advance our enterprise priorities including sustainable healthcare delivery, and drive a leading corporate reputation. This includes supporting the preparation of senior leader briefings on diverse topics, both in written and verbal form, including talking points and the preparation of impactful Powerpoint presentations, leveraging on-brand materials and content.
Deliver first-class communications for core programmes including internal and external communications and in liaison with digital, corporate comms, events and media teams as relevant.
Provide strategic insights and guidance to the Global Corporate Affairs function as well as regions and key markets, particularly for Chair engagements, incl. on key metrics and measurement to ensure delivery of goals and enable the continuous improvement and professionalisation of global platforms and partnerships.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver an effective Chair engagement programme as well as key partners, advocates and influencers to protect, nurture and build the corporate reputation of the business.
Manage external agency relationships and budgets as necessary.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Healthcare experience
EU and/or European policy and policymaking experience
Strong interpersonal skills, with proven track record in engaging with senior leaders and peers.
Excellent writing skills and experience communicating complex strategic issues, translating them into concise messaging, briefings and slide decks
Experience working in corporate affairs, government affairs or policy, with demonstrated results within a leading company, agency or government.
Strong programme management skills for multi-stakeholder, complex programmes.
Strategic thinker and ability to comprehend complex matters and chart a clear path forward, with both hybrid and in-person meetings, engagements and platforms
Ability to work under pressure, deliver in an agile way and prioritise multiple competing demands
Eagerness and ability to collaborate with and mobilise different teams within the company
Genuine interest in and passion for healthcare, innovation and life sciences competitiveness
Discretion in handling confidential information and engaging with senior stakeholders
Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for writing, powerpoint, organisational planning
Desirable:
Fluency in multiple languages, particularly French and German.
Strong existing networks across policy, government and global platforms
Experience working in a global organisation

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 125,822.40 to 165,141.90.
