We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead end‑to‑end marketing strategy across a dynamic FMCG healthcare portfolio, working at the intersection of brand, category, finance and customer teams.
This is a senior role for someone who enjoys ownership, influence and pace, and who can balance creativity with commercial rigour.
The role
As Senior Marketing Manager, you will take full responsibility for marketing strategy, planning and execution, while acting as a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in driving sustainable growth, optimising investment and developing high‑performing teams.
Key responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership on brand and portfolio strategy, including P&L management and optimal use of marketing and sales budgets
Own the full marketing planning cycle, from portfolio prioritisation through to implementation, evaluation and optimisation
Develop compelling communication strategies in partnership with advertising and PR agencies
Monitor and evaluate marketing performance, ensuring activity delivers against commercial and brand objectives
Collaborate with Account Managers to develop and deliver trade marketing strategies
Lead client review meetings with clear objectives, strong commercial focus and actionable outcomes
Deliver clear, insightful reporting on brand performance, budgets and forecasts
Manage monthly expenditure against budget on a detailed, line‑by‑line basis
Represent marketing expertise at customer and client meetings, demonstrating strong category and brand knowledge
Oversee the creation of high‑quality presentations for clients, customers and internal sales teams
Write clear, commercially focused briefs for external agencies and secure client approval
Review and challenge agency proposals, making recommendations grounded in insight and value creation
Work closely with clients and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels and continuity of supply
Identify growth opportunities through category analysis to influence NPD and future marketing plans
Provide feedback on agency performance to ensure quality, service and cost effectiveness
Own client sales budgets, expenditure tracking and forecasting
Lead, coach and develop direct reports, agreeing development plans and providing ongoing feedback
Carry out any other reasonable tasks aligned to the role and business objectives
Experience and background
Minimum of 8 years’ marketing experience, ideally within FMCG or consumer packaged goods
Experience in Health & Beauty, OTC, licensed medicines or another highly regulated market is preferred
Exposure to grocery and or pharmacy retail environments is desirable
Proven track record of developing and delivering successful brand plans
Qualifications
Degree in a business‑related subject or equivalent experience
CIM qualification is desirable
Key skills
Strong understanding of financial KPIs and P&L drivers, including ROI, promotional evaluation, stock management and COGS
Intermediate Excel skills to support commercial analysis and decision‑making
Intermediate PowerPoint skills with the ability to create clear, influential presentations
Excellent influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable working autonomously and as part of cross‑functional teams
Highly organised and pragmatic, with the ability to prioritise and adapt in a changing environment
