Job Description
The ServiceNow Architect is responsible for leading the platform’s overall architecture, strategy, and governance ensuring scalability, performance, security, and alignment with enterprise priorities. The role defines the roadmap, establishes development standards, and serves as the technical authority across key modules such as EA, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and the ServiceNow AI module, driving adoption and optimization. The architect is also accountable for implementing new modules and capabilities as needed, designing and delivering end‑to‑end solutions, enabling automation, maintaining data integrity, managing integrations and environment strategy, and ensuring code quality, compliance, and CMDB accuracy. Strong hands‑on expertise across modules, deep understanding of ITIL and integration patterns, and advanced ServiceNow certifications are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall ServiceNow platform architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Own the ServiceNow roadmap and align platform capabilities with business and enterprise architecture priorities.
Define and enforce governance standards, development frameworks, and best‑practice guidelines.
Evaluate new releases, plugins, and features and provide recommendations on adoption and optimization.
Act as the technical lead across key ServiceNow modules, including:
Enterprise Asset Management (EA) – hardware, software, mobile, cloud assets
ITSM – Incident, Problem, Change, Request
ITOM – Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping
ITAM – HAM/SAM automation
HRSD, SecOps, CSM (as needed)
Optimize asset lifecycle processes, data models, and automation workflows.
Architect and deliver end‑to‑end solutions—including data models, integrations, workflows, and automation.
Perform hands‑on development: Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Catalog Items.
Build custom scoped apps and integrations using REST/SOAP, MID Server, IntegrationHub.
Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and process teams to define requirements and implement scalable solutions.
Oversee instance strategy, configuration management, and environment planning.
Conduct code reviews, enforce security/compliance requirements, and ensure development quality.
Drive CMDB accuracy and maintain strong EA/ITAM data integrity.
Create and maintain reusable architectural templates, patterns, and accelerators.
Deep, hands‑on expertise in the EA module and multiple core modules.
Excellent understanding of ITIL, Asset Management, CMDB, and enterprise integration patterns.
Preferred certifications: CSA, CIS (EA/ITSM/ITOM/ITAM), CAD; CTA is a plus.
