Role Overview
We are seeking a Functional Safety Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive cross-functional execution and alignment for functional safety across a complex robotics platform. This role coordinates internal teams and external partners to support safety-critical milestones, maintain program clarity, and advance certification goals. The TPM establishes scalable execution frameworks and serves as a central integration point to enable predictable delivery while allowing engineering teams to focus on technical development.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end execution of the functional safety program across a complex, multi-vendor ecosystem
Drive integrated planning, delivery tracking, and alignment across internal teams and external partners
Establish execution frameworks spanning safety requirements, V&V activities, interface definitions, safety analyses, and certification milestones
Define and manage the critical path toward system safety goals and certification
Act as the central coordination point across hardware, software, systems engineering, compliance, validation, vendors, and certification bodies
Enable structured collaboration, decision-making, and cross-functional program alignment
Identify risks, resourcing gaps, and dependencies; drive mitigation strategies
Introduce scalable processes, governance, and operational rigor to improve predictability and execution maturity
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager delivering complex hardware or safety-critical systems.
Familiarity with functional safety standards and certification processes in AV/Robotics
Experience managing multi-vendor engineering programs with significant cross-functional dependencies.
Strong ability to operate in ambiguous or greenfield environments and build structures where none exists.
Excellent communication, stakeholder alignment, and execution leadership skills.
This a hybrid position based out of one of our Fremont, CA office.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Agility Robotics is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions who work in other locations. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Anticipated Base Salary Range
$166,000—$259,000 USD
