Role Overview
The Datacenter and Energy (DCE) team is seeking a motivated, experienced technical marketing engineer for our power controllers (PWC) team. The successful candidate will lead product strategy, technical positioning, and deeply technical go-to-market execution for a portfolio spanning high voltage DCDC controllers, isolated DCDC solutions, and LED driver products. This role blends deep power electronics expertise with commercial ownership, including both new growth products and sustaining revenue critical businesses.
You will act as the market and customer voice across multiple power domains, balancing innovation, roadmap definition, and lifecycle management while driving adoption in markets such as data center, telecom infrastructure, industrial power, energy systems, and lighting.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Technical Leadership
Own the product marketing strategy for:
High voltage DCDC controllers (isolated and non-isolated)
Isolated DCDC converters and controllers (flyback, forward, resonant, full bridge, etc.)
Manage sustaining LED driver products, including AC‑DC and DC‑DC lighting solutions
Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in power conversion architectures, control schemes, isolation techniques, protection features, and system level tradeoffs.
Serve as a technical authority in customer and internal discussions, translating device level capabilities into system level benefits such as efficiency, reliability, safety, and lifetime.
Market Strategy, Positioning & Portfolio Ownership
Define value propositions, segmentation, and competitive positioning for both growth and sustaining product lines.
Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis (TAM/SAM, pricing, feature gaps, design win tracking).
Balance portfolio evolution by:
Driving next generation HV and isolated DCDC innovation
Sustaining and growing the LED driver business through refreshes, cost optimization, and application expansion
Identify opportunities to extend product lifetimes, defend share, and improve margins in mature product segments.
Go-to-Market & Launch Execution
Lead product launches and ongoing marketing activities, including:
Technical Value Messaging, collateral, web content, and technical documentation
Sales and FAE training for both new and sustaining products
Develop application focused content such as system block diagrams, reference architectures, use cases, and competitive comparisons.
Ensure consistent messaging across high growth DCDC platforms and longtail LED driver products.
Customer & Field Engagement
Engage directly with key customers, OEMs, and strategic accounts to drive design wins, deeply understand customer application problems and drive roadmap alignment.
Support sales and FAEs on critical opportunities, escalations, and competitive situations.
Gather customer feedback to inform roadmap decisions, sustaining actions, and cost down initiatives.
Sustaining Business & Lifecycle Management
Partner with engineering, operations, and sales to maximize revenue and profitability from mature product lines while minimizing support burden.
Cross Functional & Business Leadership
Partner with product definition, R&D, applications, operations, and sales to influence product requirements, roadmap tradeoffs, and investment priorities.
Track and communicate business performance metrics (revenue, margin, design ins, lifecycle status).
Present product and market updates to executive leadership and cross functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in power electronics, semiconductor product marketing, product management, or technical business development.
Strong technical foundation in power electronics and related systems, with the ability to understand, evaluate, and communicate tradeoffs across device‑, circuit‑, and system‑level designs. Experience may include DC‑DC conversion, isolated power architectures, lighting or energy applications, or adjacent analog and power‑management domains with demonstrated ability to learn new architectures, engage deeply with engineering teams, and translate complex technical concepts into customer and business value.
Experience across both growth and sustaining product lines.
Familiarity with industrial, datacenter, telecom, and lighting markets.
Demonstrated success in product launches, lifecycle management, and design win growth.
Proven track record of deeply understanding customers’ technical application challenges and collaborating across multi-function team to define high value technology solutions
Strong executive level communication and customer-facing presentation skills.
