UWB Wireless Application Engineer – Lead Breakthroughs in Next‑Generation Localization & Sensing

Position Overview:
Join a dynamic, highly motivated team working directly with leading electronics brands across the Americas to develop innovative products integrating Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. In this role, you will build rare expertise in hardware and system architectures based on UWB. Over time, you will become a trusted technical referent for both internal stakeholders and customers in the region. As a pivotal contributor, you will bridge customer needs with product capabilities and influence future product roadmaps and value propositions. You’ll help customers shape innovative requirements that drive real business impact for NXP.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high‑quality, timely HW and RF technical support to assigned customers
Manage projects across both detailed technical aspects and high-level system perspectives
Master the fundamentals of technical sales engagements
Drive and contribute to innovation initiatives
Lead proof‑of‑concept development, solution design, and demos to differentiate NXP and secure design wins
Translate customer and competitive insights into improved product definitions and roadmaps
Understand and articulate how ecosystem solutions strengthen NXP’s position
Qualify sales opportunities based on technical requirements and establish NXP’s value versus competition
Communicate the technical and business benefits of NXP solutions to customer stakeholders
Own block diagrams to ensure the broader technical team fully understands system requirements
Provide ongoing knowledge sharing to help accounts understand operational, financial, and business impacts of NXP solutions
Build strong relationships with Sales, Business Lines, R&D, partners, and customers to support account objectives
Train Field Sales Engineers on new technologies, features, and related business value
Skills & Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a major or concentration in Radio Frequencies (RF) and minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Coursework in Wireless Communications, Antennas, and Microwaves
Strong understanding of key antenna concepts: topology, gain, polarization, radiation patterns, isolation, interference, link‑budget analysis, and frequency spectrum
Hands-on experience with Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF simulation tools, and RF debugging equipment
Experience with schematic design and layout for RF subsystems
Soft Skills & Behaviors:
A structured, analytical approach and strong problem‑solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and with customers
A fast-learning mindset, strong team spirit, and the ability to work autonomously
A sense of urgency and the judgment to escalate issues appropriately
Willingness to travel up to 25%, including short‑notice trips
Differentiating Skills (Nice to Have):
Experience with UWB or Radar technologies
Exposure to UWB or 802.15.xx proprietary wireless protocols
Experience in antenna design, simulation, optimization, prototyping, tuning, and measurement
Familiarity with antenna manufacturing methods and materials
Knowledge of regulatory compliance and certification testing
4+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles
The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles.

Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs. This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is:
$121,400 to $166,900 annually
