Job Description
Your day-to-day:
Working collaboratively with a Lead UX Architect to align designs with customer requirements with current UI trends and needs.
Working collaboratively with Business (BA) and Development teams to drive out designs that align to project objectives and are technically feasible.
Working with teams to create compelling user experiences in Figma following a UCD-led process.
Leading template and token update priorities based on sales needs.
Planning and running design sprints to engage with internal stakeholders and customers.
Crafting and specifying the user interface style and theme to production quality aligned to our customers' brand working with design tokens.
Working in an Agile environment following SCRUM methodology.
Defining and distributing UI component standards across products.
Acting as the primary internal liaison to bridge communication between English-speaking product teams and Japanese-speaking teams.
Leading complex negotiations and building relationships with C-suite stakeholders in Japanese.
Translating technical UI documentation, drafting formal business proposals, navigating Japanese-language software interfaces, and communicating effectively with local vendors.
What you need to be successful:
Language Requirements: Japanese Native-equivalent proficiency or Minimum JLPT N2 required, with a strong preference for N1 holders.
Bachelors or masters program in: Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, User Experience Design, Design Thinking, or a field related to user experience design with an accredited college/university.
5-8 years of user experience design, interaction design, and user interface design in enterprise and complex business processes, insurance domain a plus.
Experience with design and collaborative tools like Figma, Miro, Photoshop, Powerpoint, etc..
Experience or knowledge of working with design systems and design tokens.
Excellent communication skills: Presentation and public speaking.
Capable of clearly communicating, in both written and verbal format.
Strong relationship management skills are a plus.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
Have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Keen attention to detail is required.
