Job Description
About this role
Your team
Preqin, part of BlackRock, plays a critical role in transforming private markets data and technology for clients globally. Its capabilities complement the Aladdin platform, helping deliver comprehensive, whole-portfolio investment solutions. You will join a collaborative commercial team focused on expanding Preqin’s client relationships and delivering measurable value to leading financial institutions.
Your role and impact
We are seeking an experienced sales professional to identify, develop, and close new subscription agreements with some of the largest and most respected firms in the market, while expanding existing client relationships. You will take full ownership of a designated sales territory, including strategic planning and execution, and independently drive sales initiatives to meet or exceed monthly net sales targets.
This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact, build a strong and sustainable pipeline, and develop a successful sales career at Preqin and across the wider BlackRock organization. Career progression will be supported by strong revenue performance, exemplary conduct, and excellent organizational skills.
Your responsibilities
In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results.
The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:
Own and manage the full sales cycle from securing senior-level introductions through closing new business, with accountability for meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Clearly articulate Preqin’s products and value proposition to prospective clients while building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
Partner closely with the Account Management team to identify upselling opportunities across products, teams, and use cases, and contribute to commercial strategies that expand value for clients and Preqin.
Deliver tailored proposals, product demonstrations, and client consultations in person where possible or through phone and video channels.
Continuously develop expertise across Preqin and Aladdin solutions, including product enhancements, new modules, emerging solutions, and evolving client use cases.
Your experience
Proven sales experience in new business development, account management, or both, ideally within financial services, alternative investments, business-to-business software as a service (B2B SaaS), or solution-based selling.
A demonstrable record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Strong negotiation skills, particularly across renewals, upselling, cross-selling, and add-on products.
Disciplined and accurate Salesforce management, including strong pipeline, forecasting, and reporting hygiene.
Working knowledge of financial markets data, alternative assets, and the financial services industry in Australia.
Our benefits
To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. As a new joiner, you can count on this hybrid model to accelerate your learning and onboarding experience here at BlackRock.
