WHY THIS ROLE? - Lead product vision and strategy for Cohere’s North AI platform, and related products. - Shape the future of the product and company culture while working with a talented multidisciplinary team. ABOUT COHERE Cohere is a company at the forefront of AI and NLP technology. Cohere builds foundational models and AI solutions that help teams turn everyday effort into extraordinary impact. ABOUT NORTH North is Cohere’s cutting-edge AI workspace platform, designed to revolutionize the way enterprises utilize AI. It offers a secure and customizable environment, allowing companies to deploy AI while maintaining control over sensitive data. North integrates seamlessly with existing workflows, providing a trusted platform that connects AI agents with workplace tools and applications. RESPONSIBILITIES CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT AND RESEARCH - Collaborate with enterprise customers and developers to understand their needs and pain points through various methods (feedback, focus groups, interviews, conferences). - Research industry trends, competitive landscape, and stay updated on the latest AI/ML research (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR) to drive innovation. - Analyze product data to identify usage patterns and opportunities for improvement. - Align with leadership to ensure product strategy supports company goals. PRODUCT STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT - Translate customer insights into a prioritized product roadmap. - Design and specify features, including defining success metrics. - Propose and prioritize new initiatives, balancing short-term and long-term investments. - Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution. EXECUTION AND DELIVERY - Navigate trade-offs and challenges during the development process. - Lead project planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication. - Ensure product launches are data-driven, with clear metrics and hypotheses. - Share successes and learnings internally and externally. LEADERSHIP AND IMPACT - Embrace a hands-on, startup mindset to drive results in a fast-paced environment. - Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation. - Mentor and develop product management talent within the team. QUALIFICATIONS - Experience: 12+ years in product management, with a proven track record of leading successful products and teams. - Technical Background: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred. - Domain Expertise: Experience with AI/ML, developer-facing products (e.g., APIs), or large-scale systems. - Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and influence stakeholders. - Mindset: Scrappy, startup mentality with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. - Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Background in engineering, machine learning, algorithms, or statistics. - Experience in a high-growth startup or tech company. - Familiarity with agile development methodologies. - Experience managing a team of Product Managers.
